Duties:

The primary duty of a Drafter is the creation of Food Service ‘rough-in’ drawings through the use of drafting software such as AutoCAD, Revit and others.

• These are part of our submittal packages and are used by general contractors, project managements, installers, and the trades to coordinate and execute our contracted work.
• ‘Rough-ins’ consist of equipment layouts, utility connection plans, and building condition details. Completing these drawings requires knowledge of plumbing & electrical systems, construction processes and food service equipment & processes.

Secondary duties involve coordinating with sales teams and designers to actively solve problems, as well as supporting the project management team with site coordination efforts and actively helping develop the team’s overall processes to maximize accuracy and efficiency

Our Ideal Candidate:

(Before considering the following, remember we WANT to train the right person, so you don’t need to possess all these skills, just be committed to learning)

• Has a high attention to detail and loves problem solving & puzzles
• Loves to draw - demonstrates a passion for 2D & 3D drafting
• Has prior experience 2D and 3D drafting software. AutoCAD and Revit are preferred but not required, equivalent drafting software experience is acceptable
• Understands electrical, plumbing and HVAC theory & components – preferred, but not required
• Has experience in the food service industry and/or with food service equipment - preferred, but not required
• Has a natural mechanical aptitude, can visualize 3D constructs from 2D plans
• Has excellent written and verbal communication skills, specifically regarding technical concepts
• Has the ability to read critically and for comprehension, specifically regarding equipment spec sheets
• Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and documents – preferred, but not required
• Possesses excellent time management and organizational skills and can work independently
• Displays leadership characteristics or potential
• Wants to learn, grow and is driven to succeed
• Proficiency with windows based operating systems as well as some or all the following key programs
  • Excel
  • Word
  • Outlook
  • Bluebeam/Adobe Acrobat/Nitro PDF

 

Note - Degrees related to drafting, technology, construction, project management, business or engineering are helpful, but not required.
